Full-time students, exchange students, language students, interns, and medical residents or trainees. Online-only study does not qualify. We do not offer general rentals.
Yes. Medical students, residents and hospital trainees are all eligible. We need a letter from your medical school confirming your enrollment, and if you have a rotation schedule or placement letter, sending it too makes the review faster.
No. A letter confirming your enrollment or internship dates, plus the deposit, is enough.
Single rooms are $1,000 a month with a $1,000 deposit. Stays start at one month and can be extended month by month when rooms are open. Contact us for other terms.
Furniture (bed, desk, wardrobe), Wi-Fi, the laundry room, the gym and the shared kitchen. We confirm which utilities are included before you sign.
Yes. You apply and send documents online, and we email you how to pay the deposit. You pick up your key on arrival day.
No. This program is for full-time students, so online-only study does not qualify. We need a letter from your school confirming full-time enrollment and the dates.
For four months or more it is the first month, the last month and the deposit, so $3,000. For three months or less we ask for the whole period up front, so a three-month stay is $3,000 plus the $1,000 deposit, $4,000 in total. On top of that there is a one-time $50 application fee and a $50 key fob.
The security deposit and the $50 key fob are refundable. The $50 application fee is not, and it is only charged after we have told you that you are approved.
Three things: a building key, your room key and a key fob. The fob is the scanner you use to get in, and the $50 comes back when you return it.
One of our team reviews everything first, then it goes for final approval. If all your documents are ready it can be done in a single day.
You do. Our site manager collects the keys and checks the room, and any damage or items left behind may be charged.
No. This is an enrollment in a dormitory program rather than a tenancy, and the rooms are not intended to be used as a primary residence, so HRA and other housing vouchers do not apply.
The first payment is by certified check or wire transfer. We email you our wire details at the payment stage, after we have told you that you are approved.
We need the letter from the school you will actually be attending while you live here, and that school needs to be within commuting distance of Flushing. If you are waiting on a transfer or an admission, the acceptance letter or enrollment letter from the new school is what we need.
After we have confirmed that you qualify. We check the application and your documents first, and only then do we send the agreement and the affidavit. Nothing is signed and nothing is charged before that.
There is no curfew. Overnight guests are not allowed. The house rules are set out in full in the agreement.
Yes. We only use your gender to assign the floor.
Two neighboring rooms share one bathroom. Rooms have no kitchen; there is a large shared kitchen and dining area.
Yes. For summer programs, camps or intern cohorts we can block rooms together, and the classroom is available too. View the group stay deck
Yes. You can use your room address for mail, bank accounts and other registrations.
Extensions are available month by month when rooms are open. Early move-out terms are in the agreement.
We are sorry, but no. GLF Residence is a student and intern program run by a nonprofit, so in medicine we house medical students, residents and hospital trainees only.
